Heartland Properties, Inc. (HPI) hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Friday, Oct. 19, to celebrate the opening of its newest development, Countryside of Clinton. The one-story facility, located at 1130 North 11th Street in Clinton, Iowa, provides high-quality, affordable housing for adults age 55 and older. |
More than 130 community and business leaders attended the open house, including Clinton Mayor LaMetta Wynn and Mike Tramontina, executive director of the Iowa Finance Authority. |
Countryside of Clinton has 32 apartments, including eight one-bedroom and 22 two-bedroom units. The apartments are conveniently located near grocery, retail and medical services. |
The project was made possible through a partnership between HPI and Newbury Development Company of Des Moines. Alliant Energy Resources invested $1.4 million in the project, with additional financial support provided by the Iowa Finance Authority and the Iowa Department of Economic Development. |
Ken Sivertsen, major accounts manager-Engineering Sales and Marketing, says Countryside of Clinton is a welcome addition to the area. "The opening of this apartment facility is a positive step toward addressing the need for more high-quality, affordable housing for seniors," said Sivertsen. |
"It takes a high level of cooperation to make projects like Countryside of Clinton a success," said Scott Fitzpatrick, Iowa housing manager at Heartland Properties. "It's encouraging to see so many dedicated partners working together for the betterment of our communities," he added. |
Heartland Properties, a subsidiary of Alliant Energy Resources, has participated in 118 housing developments throughout the Midwest. |
