Heartland Properties, Inc. (HPI), an Alliant Energy Resources company, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Maquoketa, Iowa, Friday, Sept. 21. The ceremony marks the official opening of the Whitetail Run Apartments, which will provide high-quality, affordable housing for adults age 62 and older.
The $1.6 million development was developed by Burns & Burns, L.C,. of Iowa City, Iowa, and was made possible through a $770,000 investment by Heartland Properties. City, state and private entities including the USDA Rural Development Program and the Iowa Department of Economic Development, also contributed to the success of Whitetail Run.
"Value-added services, such as the affordable housing provided by Heartland Properties, Inc., set Alliant Energy apart from other wholesale electric services companies," says Peggy Tillman, wholesale account manager. Tillman adds that investment projects like Whitetail Run significantly contribute to the company's invest, connect and grow strategy.
Scott Fitzpatrick, Iowa housing manager for Heartland Properties, Inc., says HPI is dedicated to helping fulfill the need for high-quality housing in Iowa. "Whitetail Run is a tremendous example of what can be accomplished by forward-thinking organizations dedicated to providing the best housing for the residents of this state," said Fitzpatrick.
Heartland Properties was founded in 1988 and has since sponsored the development of more than 5,300 high-quality, affordable apartment homes for families and older adults.
