Heartland Properties to break ground on senior housing project in Montello, Wisconsin

Community and business leaders in Montello, Wisconsin will join representatives from Heartland Properties, Inc. and CAP Services, Inc. to break ground on a new housing development 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30. Lake Country Senior Village will provide high-quality, affordable housing for seniors age 55 and older in the Montello area.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at the site, 3865 Highway F, with a celebration lunch immediately following at the Community Room of the Montello Municipal Building. The facility design for Lake Country Senior Village includes 20 housing units. The apartments are expected to be ready for occupancy in Spring 2002.
Attending the groundbreaking will be Mike Olson, CAP Services; Mayor Jerol Smart, City of Montello; John Schultz, Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority; Thomas Shannon, FPC Financial and FSB John Deere Credit; Mary Frances Troudt, State of Wisconsin Division of Housing; Doug Strub, Meridian Group, Inc.; and Ruth Domack and Russ Kaney, Heartland Properties.
Lake Country Senior Village is being developed by CAP Services, Inc., a not-for-profit community action agency serving central Wisconsin, and Seno Companies. The housing is being made possible through a $900,000 investment by Alliant Energy Resources through its affordable housing subsidiary, Heartland Properties, Inc. Additional financial support is being provided by Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, Amcore Bank-Montello, WHEDA, Wisconsin Division of Housing, John Deere Credit and Capital Square Financial Corporation.

"As America's senior population continues to grow, providing affordable housing options for them becomes increasingly important. Lake Country Senior Village will consist of two distinct styles of apartment homes. One building will house 10 one-bedroom units; the other will consist of 10 two-bedroom apartment homes. Amenities will include a community room with a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities and a computer workstation with Internet connection.
