Congressman Leonard Boswell (3rd District) will join community and business leaders for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of Windsor Ridge Apartments, a new senior housing complex in Knoxville, Iowa, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 28. |
Located at 1210 Eric Drive in Knoxville, Windsor Ridge includes 24 one-bedroom apartments for adults age 62 and older. The $1.7 million complex was developed by Burns & Burns, L.C. of Iowa City, Iowa and was made possible through a $705,000 investment by Alliant Energy Resources through its affordable housing subsidiary, Heartland Properties, Inc. |
Many other organizations contributed to the success of Windsor Ridge Apartments, including the USDA Rural Development Program, Iowa Finance Authority, Iowa Department of Economic Development and the City of Knoxville. |
"I applaud the efforts of this partnership which came together to make this senior housing project a reality," says Boswell. "Quality senior housing is desperately needed in many communities throughout Iowa. This complex will be extremely beneficial to Knoxville and will provide many seniors with comfortable, affordable housing." |
A tour, including refreshments, will be held immediately following the ribbon cutting ceremony. |
