	Heartland Properties, in cooperation with the City of Sheboygan Falls Chamber-Main Street and the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority, purchased and renovated the 119-year old mill, converting it into 34 affordable apartment homes. The project was one of the first investments in the Sheboygan Falls Main Street program and anchors the downtown area.

	During ceremonies in Madison on May 8, 1998 honoring 10 years of the Wisconsin Main Street program, Heartland Properties was honored for "Best Downtown Adaptive Reuse Project" of the past decade for the company's Brickner Woolen Mills historic rehabilitation.
